Fake News!

Image
Let's be honest, all of us have seen a post on social media, a Youtube video or maybe even an article with a title that grabs our attention and lets us in on gossip. B ut after you clicked that post or video, you were probably upset that you got curious for nothing and spent your time reading something that was completely fake. I’m sure many of us can relate t o this feeling of annoyance and wonder why someone do something like this in the first place. Nowadays everything is on social media. Many people have access to the internet so just like companies put ads on websites to promote their products, people can put up posts or articles. I t’s all about the views. In 2016, Kaepernick took a knee during the American National Anthem to protest against racial injustice. T his action however stirred up much controversy. Not everyone was pleased with Kaepernick's action. Some supported him while others did not. Due to this action, Kaepernick is no longer a player for the 49er’s or any team for that matter and remains a free agent. Since Kaepernick was already well-known by the public eye, Nike, an athletic wear manufacturing company took this as an opportunity to hire him for their brand. Since then, Kaepernick’s face has been spotted on many Nike advertisements such as this one below. Although Nike took advantage of this situation, little did they know it would hurt them too. Days after the advertisement was put up, people showed their reactions to it through social media. There were many people who thought what...
